Dr. J. Blair Summitt, MD, FACSDr. Summitt, a native Tennessean, joined the faculty of Vanderbilt’s Department of Plastic Surgery in 2004 after completing his Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Residency at Vanderbilt. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He has given a number of lectures and presentations in the field of plastic surgery and published multiple peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has been honored as the Vanderbilt Corporate Health Services Star Award recipient four times (2011, 2012, 2014 and 2015).

Dr. Summitt maintains active involvement in a number of professional organizations including the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, and the American Council of Academic Plastic Surgeons. He also plays an integral role on the Resident Applicant Selection Committee and the Plastic Surgery Residency Clinical Competency Committee at Vanderbilt.

Dr. Summitt’s practice focuses on aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, breast, and body, facial laser resurfacing, general reconstructive plastic surgery, and reconstructive surgery of the burn patient. He is well traveled and has participated in several mission trips to Kenya and Guatemala. His favorite activity is spending time with his wife and two young children. He also enjoys travel, golf, tennis and is a huge college football fan.
